To increase understanding and raise awareness of infection, hygiene and antimicrobial resistance, in collaboration with the Cardiff University
By pairing up science classes in the UK and Ireland with schools in Tanzania, pupils and teachers will be able to explore topics together and learn about each other’s lives and health priorities. We hope that by bringing together learners and educators from different cultural backgrounds their learning experience will be stronger and more memorable, and create a lasting impact.
Activities cover the importance of personal hygiene and hand washing, the role of microbes in the environment, and the effect of antibiotics and vaccination in controlling infections.Starter packs provided to each school include printed learning materials, an introduction to the Superbugs website, supplies for experiments and activities, and fun prizes. Participating schools are encouraged to exchange artwork, texts, digital content and gifts directly with each other, to foster long-lasting relationships and as evidence of successful joint learning.Learn more about this program and participating schools below,
