HRH Prince William was impressed by the ongoing efforts of the RBA Initiative to contain AMR. The “World Together Solving the Antibiotic Emergency” conference, hosted by His Majesty’s Government—the UK Department of Health and Social Care and the Royal Society—brought together global leaders and stakeholders from all over the world. HRH Prince William was impressed by the RBA Initiative’s work and positively commended our founder’s unwavering commitment, consistency, and leadership in inspiring global efforts to contain AMR.
During The World Together Solving the Antibiotic Emergency conference, the World Bank, WHO, and European Commission committed financial and human support to an action-oriented approach, highlighting that “AMR is complex, but every country can do something now, everywhere.” The UK Government announced up to £85 million in new Official Development Assistance funding for AMR.
Prof. Dame Sally Davies, the UK AMR Envoy, encouraged all delegates to keep stepping up to make bold commitments, urging people to “step up, overcome those barriers, keep going… don’t let the bugs win!”
For his part, the founder of the RBA Initiative described HRH Prince William’s personal involvement in AMR mitigation efforts as critical and timely
