The RBA Initiative continues to inspire as a leader in Creative Community Engagement to address AMR

In the build-up to the UN High-Level Meeting on AMR in September, global experts came together to highlight the achievements, commitments, and call to action to address the antibiotic emergency. Hosted by His Majesty’s Government -the UK Department of Health and Social Care and the Royal Society, The World Together Solving the Antibiotic Emergency conference convened leaders from all over the world, experts from various specialties and across One Health sectors to make a collective commitment to solving the rising threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The UK government convened stakeholders from across the world with the aim of inspiring ambitious action ahead of the UN High-Level Meeting on AMR. The event gathered global leaders including ministers, co-facilitators of the UN High-Level Meeting, representatives, and heads of UN organizations amongst others.

The RBA Initiative’s approach to public and community engagement is considered an inspiring example of creative, community-focused support on a global scale. In this critical event, our Founder, Erick Venant, one of the globally recognized leaders in the AMR space, was invited as a speaker to address the topic “From Awareness to Action: Public Engagement on AMR.” He highlighted the RBA Initiative’s public engagement efforts in Tanzania, focusing on awareness and behavioral change promotion. The RBA Initiative’s out-of-the-box approaches, which empower communities and school children as agents of change through the Roll Back AMR School Clubs using the power of arts and crafts and embracing the bottom-up approach to co-create and implement solutions at the grassroots level, were embraced as inspirational.

The daytime conference at the Royal Society celebrated global efforts to tackle AMR. It showcased the latest scientific and economic research on AMR and provided a platform for thought leaders and innovators.
